I wrapped my arms around you, dear.
That was when I began to drown.
You put your lock around my neck
And now you're dragging, pulling me down.
I feel your chains about my arms,
Your blindfold tight around my eyes.
I'm smothered and I need to breathe;
I'm choking on your gorgeous lies.
Hurt me, kill me, take my life
And I may love you all the same.
I'm too far gone to even care,
I'm drowning in your dangerous game.

My Premature Conclusion
This is my end, not yours
For you may go on
And somebody somewhere may take up your tale
But I'm not the one any longer, my love.
Your heavy cloud for near ten years
Has taken me over; dulled is my vision
And all that I see is the road that I'm on -
Undulating, narrow and not-quite-safe - and its dark end.
When the cloud thins and clears
I see the other path just beyond my reach:
That of light and open doors
But I know not where it may lead.
Familiar fog comes over my eyes
Bringing both comfort and unease
For now I know there is something more
Beyond this road to which I've bound myself.
But those who are blinded can only go blindly
Or stay where they stand and go nowhere.
I am so used to wandering in mist,
I know my way better when I am lost.
But I must turn and leave your path
For the sake of myself and a higher good.
To rid myself of that which I love and loathe
I must cut our cord and watch it bleed.
Like great creators I leave my work undone
But unlike them I pray that I never return
Let me never again dirty my hands
To fill these blank pages I've left.
For you may go on
And somebody somewhere may take up your tale
But I'm not the one any longer, my love.
Your heavy cloud for near ten years
Has taken me over; dulled is my vision
And all that I see is the road that I'm on -
