O, Lord, remember Lucy, your daughter dressed in red?
You threw her out the house when her charms went to her head.
Lucy did a bad, bad thing and now she can't go back.
Lucy sure is pretty, Lord, but now her soul is black.
But Lucy says she's sorry for that time when she went wild.
And Lucy says she's sorry for not being meek and mild.
Lucy says she's sorry: she swears on Heaven above.
Lucy says she's sorry to the Father, Son and Dove.
Now Lucy wears a mask to hide the shame upon her face
And Lucy knows the world can be a pretty lonely place.
She's no longer an angel and she'll never be a lamb.
Lucy sure is beautiful but now her soul is damned.
But Lucy says she's sorry, Lord, for causing so much pain.
Lucy says she's sorry and it won't happen again.
Lucy says she's sorry: O, Lord, she needs your love.
Lucy says she's sorry to the Father, Son and Dove.
Lucy says she's sorry.
She says she needs a friend.
So, Lord, forgive thy Lucy
And take her back.
Amen.
