Wishes ascending, Orion is dancing,
The world is sleeping here
Beneath this diamond-studded cloak of velvet,
United, divided, together but parted.
Only dreams can bridge this void.
When the dark has conquered the light,
When the hush is starting to fall,
When the twilight covers the sky,
When the night begins its reign
Then I'll come, furtively,
To your thoughts, to your dreams.
Think of me, secretly.
Wait for me, dream of me...
My love, close your eyes
And I'll walk into your dreams.
Go, close your eyes, and go to sleep
And I will bring the day to you.
I believe in you
As I believe the sun will rise.
Oh, we know this night will have an end
And when it ends we'll be so free.

Just One Suitcase
Sitting in the station
And my coffee's getting cold
But I wait in tired stagnation
For the caffeine to take hold.
A slave ship brought me here
And I didn't have a bed
So I languished on a widowed pier,
My coat over my head.
And sure enough, as I awoke,
An echo lingered on my tongue
Of the farewells that we never spoke,
The swan song that was never sung.
We said we'd sit beneath the skies
And gaze in quietus at the sun
And I'd watch the nightfall in your eyes
And pray that dawn would never come.
But the beguiling skies, they wept
And sank our sundown in their showers
And through our final dawn we slept
Wasting seconds, minutes, hours.
Time has wrought its vengeance well
As I sit here in the station.
Living without you is hell
And I'm lost in isolation.
And my coffee's getting cold
But I wait in tired stagnation
For the caffeine to take hold.
A slave ship brought me here
And I didn't have a bed
So I languished on a widowed pier,
My coat over my head.
And sure enough, as I awoke,
An echo lingered on my tongue
Of the farewells that we never spoke,
The swan song that was never sung.

But the beguiling skies, they wept
And sank our sundown in their showers
And through our final dawn we slept
Wasting seconds, minutes, hours.
Time has wrought its vengeance well
As I sit here in the station.
Living without you is hell
And I'm lost in isolation.

A Prayer For Lucy
O, Lord, remember Lucy, your daughter dressed in red?
You threw her out the house when her charms went to her head.
Lucy did a bad, bad thing and now she can't go back.
Lucy sure is pretty, Lord, but now her soul is black.
But Lucy says she's sorry for that time when she went wild.
And Lucy says she's sorry for not being meek and mild.
Lucy says she's sorry: she swears on Heaven above.
Lucy says she's sorry to the Father, Son and Dove.
Now Lucy wears a mask to hide the shame upon her face
And Lucy knows the world can be a pretty lonely place.
She's no longer an angel and she'll never be a lamb.
Lucy sure is beautiful but now her soul is damned.
But Lucy says she's sorry, Lord, for causing so much pain.
Lucy says she's sorry and it won't happen again.
Lucy says she's sorry: O, Lord, she needs your love.
Lucy says she's sorry to the Father, Son and Dove.
Lucy says she's sorry.
She says she needs a friend.
So, Lord, forgive thy Lucy
And take her back.
Amen.

And take her back.
Amen.
